[Solved]email not working

neither Use PHP mail() function nor Set my own SMTP parameters works on my computer.

I got an erro message:Error: please check your configuration while click the button " Send an email test";

the log erro: PHP Warning: mail(): SMTP server response: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for......

I'v spend whole night try to figure it out, failed in the end though. tired and depressed.


can anyone help me out?

nobody reply. luckly though, I worked it out myself.

in case someone else may encounter the same problem. I post the solution below:

1.go to IIS manager( Start->control Panel->administrative tools->IIS),select SMTP virtual server, click Properties on the Action menu.

2. On the Access tab, under Relay restrictions, click Relay. The Relay Restrictions dialog box will open. select 'Only the list below'.

3.Click Add to open the Computer dialog box and add 127.0.0.1. click OK

Swan black, thanks for sharing that. I have a similar problem with the email - when I click test email button and it runs forever! Even I can't see any error message. Any idea? Thanks
