Scully
Empty prestashop cache and browser cache. Try again after that. And it's always good to mention the prestashop version in use.

Scully
Go to backoffice - seo & url. Change URL startpage by a character, if you have / enter /x, save and revert back to /. See if htaccess has been rewritten after this by checking the timestamp. If nothing helps, revert back to the old translation file.
Scully
Yes, we can see the path chaos on your site.
Scully
You should also look into your servers error logfile. I am quite confident you'll see errors which may help in figuring out the issue. However just copying any file from another theme or unknown state or source isn't a good option. But I think it isn't the translation file causing all this issues. dubman
htaccess regenerate didnt help. I use multishop and for that I copied the german language from the live site to another theme. then that all happened. so how should I revert to the old translation file? I don´t know why copying the translation to another theme (which is not used on the live site) affected the live theme.
dubman
but I did NOT copy a translation into the live theme. just into another theme on which I am working on a sub shop.
Scully
We haven't considered copying the translation file is causing the error as a fact. But still - themes may use different translations or terms. My experience is copying most likely results in missing translations. Revert back by replacing your current file with a backup. I assume you run backups from time to time? Take the "old" file from last night or yesterday. Once this is reverted and the problems are gone we can say the translation caused the errors. Scully
but I did NOT copy a translation into the live theme. just into another theme on which I am working on a sub shop. This is a NEW information, if refer to your initial post below: I copyied german language from one theme to another. after that all product images are missing If your statement is you did not intentially touch the currently failing shop then your copy is gone wrong or (what I guess, you unintentially changed something completely else). I repeat myself: check your servers error log.

dubman
I found the crazy solution. Somehow (don´t aks me why) all the product names got deleted because of the translation copy. this was the cause why the product urls could not be created and so also the pics couldnt be found. it took me time to find out that there was no product name anymore.the solution was to import the product names again. that´s all. Scully
I quote myself as an exception or (what I guess, you unintentially changed something completely else). Copying translation files has nothing to do with loosing product names. Theme translations are stored in files located on a filesystem, product names are stored in the database. Even a wrong copy command couln't lead to any connect between this two things. Good it's solved anyway. Add 'SOLVED' to your topic title. Thanks.
