dr17
Hi there, I'm a beginner with Prestashop, and have a question about registration. My customer selects a product, and when he's ready to proceed, if he has not got an account before, there is a box with a single field where he can enter his email. In theory, he should get an automatic email with the username and password, and I suppose I must configure this somehow. Could you please let me know? Thanks in advance :-)
Scully
First: always post your prestashop version. There are some significant changes from version to version which can make it difficult to respond unless we know your version. Second: Have you ever tried to open an account on your own? If not - do so. If it doesn't work as expected, come back with the questions. Last: No, the customer must choose a password on his own.
dr17
Hi Scully, Thanks a lot for your prompt replay, I really appreciate it. The shop is version 1.6.1.12 When I "proceed to checkout", I get the two options you can see on screenshot I attached, either registration using just the email, or email and password for those who are just registered. I'm trying option 1. Any thoughts? Thanks a lot :-)
Scully
Yes, the left one is correct for the first time. When you enter an mail address, you should get a form opening with some more fields. If this does not open, there is some conflict with your setup.
dr17
Then, it looks there is a conflict with the set up, as I never receive the email :-( Any ideas of why this could be happening? Thanks a lot Scully, I really appreciate your help.
Scully
You are misunderstanding. When you enter a mail address and you click on CREATE ACCOUNT, a new form must open. Post your shop URL here.
Scully
Is this issue solved? If yes, please add 'SOLVED' to the topic title. Thank you.
dr17
Hi Scully, Sorry for the delay. I've been trying to read here and there but the problem is not solved yet. The "Create an account" option does not work yet. I read in this forum that if you disable a "search block module" the problem will go away. I did so, but the problem still persist. Could you please help us out? Our store is: http://zweibags.co.uk/ Thanks Scully :-) David
Scully
Your registration indeed does not open the form we would expect. Error: Recaptcha is not defined Has it ever worked? Since it's not a default theme - have you asked the theme developer? (I am usually not the one to fix theme or module developers bugs)
vekia
if you've got "recaptcha" module in shop back office - install, configure and enable it. seems like theme is designed to work with this module.
dr17
Hi there, That fixed the problem! Actually, in this case, what we did is just disable the module and it worked great. Thank you so much :-) I appreciate your help.
