SandyW
Hi,Would someone please tell me what is the best way to do regular backup for my shop? I just tried with Back Office >> Tools >> DB backup, created a backup and the file size is 32 kb. I am still in the testing and learning stage, so not much data I suppose. But is that all I have to do to backup the system? I have read in another threat - http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/50720/upgrading_prestashop/best_way_to_backup_a_80mb_database - saying using phpmyAdmin, is there any difference between these two ways? And how about the files in the admin, or css? I guess I should make a backup of all the files that I have edited. right? Thanks for your time
rocky
Going to Tools > Backup will back up your database only, not your files. You'll need to do that yourself, or use a module like PrestaShop Backup to do it for you.
SandyW
Do you mean using Tools > Backup is the same as using use phpmyAdmin?
rocky
Yes, it exports all the database tables and compresses them like you can do with phpMyAdmin.
