zimi
Hi all, I'm looking for a module (or - if there is - a way in standard prestashop) to assign recursive attributes to my products. Thus, these attributes must be nested. A product can be assigned to multiple nested attributes and the other way around. That is a n-m realationship. For example, I want to indicate that certain wheels (a product) are only certified for an array of car types. These values belong to: Car BrandCar ModelCar Types (specific model) Now, I don't want to put this hierarchy into categories. Because the product "wheel" belongs into a category: productsspare partswheelsTechnically, car brand, model and type (specific model) really belong into a recursive attribute tree. Because it is an attribute that says "this wheel can be mounted to this type of car model BUT it belongs to the product category spare parts and wheels". Also, a car type value like 1c3fhm could never be valid for another car brand. Now, I could use one attribute car type (specific model, E.G. 1c3fhm) but then that would be extremely tedious to maintain. Because some wheels are applicable to multiple car types. Also, I want customers to browse the products like categories. e.g. I have a Mercedes...of the model CLA ...and type 1c3fhm Question 1.1) Is there any module that allows recursive attributes (groups) assignments for products? 1.2) Is there any module that allows to recursively skim thru this attribute hierarchy tree? 2) Is there a menu module (e.g. for mega menus) that allows to list such recursive attribute groups (not categories). 3) Is there any company that wants to develop this module and maintain it? 4) can one install modules and ask the money back if the module is not applicable (otherwise, everyone will claim their module can do it. Which is a lot of effort to test for feasibility.)? Any hints are highly welcome. Thanks! Additional explanations why NOT to use categories: e.g. I don't want to be tangled up in a wrong paradigm. Other modules depend on it, that categories are used the right way. e.g. category analysis on sales. I simply don't want e.g. a "Mercedes" to be a sales category. It's just not supposed to be one.
