Category image displayed in default theme

Hello,

 

I am learning Prestashop - creating categories, products, etc. 

I have one question regarding layout on category page header in classic default theme (as on demo.prestashop.com after selecting any category).

 

The category description takes major part of category header box and image is small on the right.

 

It seems uploading larger images does not change anything - image is rescaled and cramped on the right...

 

Can it be configured that image fills all the header box and description is displayed on top of image in the default theme?

Category images must have certain sizes to match the themes layout. In V 1.6. default theme the size was 870 x 217 px. The image show in demo V 1.7 is 141 x 180 px in size.

 

You usually can upload larger files, but the proportion of the image must match. In above example you could upload as V1.7 file with 282 x 360 px and it shoud be shrinked to the size used. But you cannot upload files with other width / height proportion and expect it to fit in the theme.
