Layout missing on brand new installation v1.7.2

I just recently downloaded latest version v1.7.2 and uploaded to my space (at an ISP).

Installation went perfect, no errors. But the sample layout looks very strange, and also some parts of the Admin is missing (ian log in but not update or add modules, it can't show any graphic pictures of installed mudules and more).

I have tried to chmod ALL folders and files as 755 to see if that helped, but no.

Any suggestions what I should try?

 

(I have already deleted all files on the server, deleted the database and reinstalled everything from scratch, but with the same problems)
