Helena Ferreira
We are an e-commerce company. We sell 6 million euros per year. Is prestashop available for an online store with this volume? Many Thanks
Scully
You can sell for 1 billion, turnover is not the problem. The question might be how many products and categories you plan to have stored in your shop. If you choose a proper server setup, you can handle 100'000 products with 300 categories or even more. Helena Ferreira
Hello Sculy, What are the advantages and disadvantages of this platform? Comparing with magento community, what are the advantages and disadvantages? Is there a fee per transaction?
selectshop.at
There is no fee per transaction. Prestashop is open source. You download, you install it on your own server or webspace, configure it, add your products and sells. Fees you need to pay for extra addons, which are not included in Prestashop core (special payment services, not native themes and other not native addons you might be need). For a better performance on a high traffic page we suggest the use of a VPS on a Cloud with root admin rights or a dedicated server (same as for Magento). As ex Magento user, I will not tell you the disadvantages. I don't like Magento. For me not userfriendly, not really self-learning. Prestashop has the same features, but it is clearer structured and you can learn how to use easy by yourself (Videos, tutorials, forum, etc.)
Scully
Some basic own research can help to understand the basics - especially if you are an e-commerce company.
