PS 1.6 can't insert telephone number in registration form

Hi..I have this problem in PS 1.6.1.13 and in PS 1.6.1.15 also with default theme, I can't insert telephone number in registration form (no field showed, registration continue regulary but without telephon number).

I also can't see telephone in costumers details page.

 

I selected in BO in costumer preference page telephone as required.

Any idea?

There are two settings if I remember correctly.

One in customer settings and one in the addresses settings. Check both.
