stobi_de
Hello, I asked the same question in the german part of this forum, but we could not find the sollution for my problem. I hope, that the international community has an idea. I'm building a catalog for offroad carpartshttp://afripix.de/shop2/2-startseite My customer has the following wish: He wants to enter the car in the top and then all categories have to show only the products, which are for that car.Otherwise the visitor of the shop would see, after filling the actual filter, all parts for this special car, maybe some 100 parts. The customer selects: Landrover, Model 110, year 1990Then he chooses the category "Fahrzeugschutz-Anbauteile"He should only see now ONE product - a Snorkel. The filter has to stay unless he resets the filter to show all parts again. I found the two filters, which are actually in the shop, but they both are not working like that. Now I need a good idea?Frank from Salzburg
selectshop.at
This request is a hot topic since years in Prestashop. Use filteroptions for that. There are many filters you can buy, which fulfil your request. One I can recommend is this one: https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/179001-module-filter-products-pro-filter-and-search-advanced-of-products/ you can stick it from the first site of your shop (homepage) Other filters at addons page: https://addons.prestashop.com/en/search?id_category=0&search_query=filter If you need to integrate official api for spare parts there is also a solution aske by a Swedish user: https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/557653-search-car-parts-by-registration-number-in-sweden/ In this case you use the webservice for to integrte foreign database spare parts search by registration number. stobi_de
Hi to Neunkirchen!Tanks for the hint.Maybe I missunderstand the work of the filters. I'm new with Prestashop. The filters I watched seem to have similar possibilities like to one, which I have. If I set a car on my testsite, i see all the products for this special car. I do not see the categories. The wish of the customer is different: he wants to select a car and all the categories should only contain parts for that selected car. selectshop.at
What you need, is to learn how Prestashop works and feed all possible data, than you can use them on the filter. Feed the data "features and attributes" on your products. Than you can filter them the way you want. https://www.prestashopmanager.com/useful-articles/tips-tricks/let-your-customers-make-product-search-precise-with-layered-navigation/ If you set on your products feature or attribute for only one car, than the filter will filter only this car. Other possibility is to work by categories, so without filter and use the navigation bar. Add your car - than subcategory of that car for all products for this car. This way is a strict filter without flexible options. Volvo -> undercategory "spare parts". All your products for volvo you than link to the undercategory "spare partes" on Volvo main category. selectshop.at
If you want to realize exactly this one you linked on German Forum: http://www.mh4x4.at/de/parts/differentialsperren/ than you need a filter and a side navigation. This site is similar to the one I realized for a customer sometime ago. And I did it with the filter pro I linked you in my first post and the native Prestashop "block categories" module. To the top navigation module I added only static links for static pages, so no categories and no product content. So exact shown on the site mh4x4.... Rethink a bit: In the mh4x4 the filter are the features/attributes of a product and the products are added as categories, but not as car brand, but as they are: Fahrwerk, Differentialsperren, etc. So you need to adopt the same architecture. Categories of type of parts and filter on the features/attributes which are your car brands.
stobi_de
Unfortunately I use Prestashop 7, so the above mentioned Filter does not work. At the moment I have in my testshop nothing usefull, so a complete different arrangement of the products is not the problem. The real problem is one: I DO NOT UNDERSTAND IT At the moment I have a lot of CATEGORIES. one of the Categories is the car type.I insert a new product and mark different categories, including the car type. Ok, that is wrong.
selectshop.at
As described before: car brand should be not a category, but a feature (Produkteigenschaft). Than you can filter by the way you need. Furthermore: use PS 1.6.,PS 1.7. is not yet read and addons will take a while to be obtainable. Block Layered module configurtion is the same for all Prestashop versions since PS 1.4. Your categories: Differentialsperre, Fahrwerk, etc. Add your products to that categories. On each Product you than add the feature Volvo, or VW or both, if the product fits for boths. On Blocklayered you add a new filtertemplate called "Marke", than on the configuration you choose "attributes". And that's it. You will have than your filter "Marke" with the options VW, Volvo, etc. for to choose.
