folkifoon
== i removed all 1.6* files from the folder i think it does work now
Anubis2702
I have the same problem, but I don't think the solution is to delete the files . If I remove all 1.6 files i get "There is no translation file available." for a lot of modules. So, how to fix this? Any solution?
bellini13
You should have removed/disabled modules that are not compatible with PS v1.7 before doing the upgrade

Anubis2702
What language are you using in the store? Did you install some Language or Translation packs? I use romanian language. It was working before update from ps 1.7.1 to 1.7.
bellini13
Was the language created during the install, or did you add the language after the store was created? Its possible the language pack fro Romanian language is corrupt or not created properly.
bellini13
If you visit the Translation page you will see that Romanian is only 82% ready for PS v1.7.0.5 (not even v1.7.2.0) https://www.prestashop.com/en/translations

bellini13
where did you obtain the translation files from? Did you bother to check the link my previous post. Appears the Spanish language pack is also not 100% complete, or even listed as compatible beyond v1.7.0.

Now we cannot even translate it by ourselves because the page is getting this message and stops loading.

dsnegi
Do we have any possible solution on this? I'm facing the same issue and tried all the methods listed here even I re-import the languages file still this problem exists. Unable to load "/Users/dsnegi/Sites/eshop-v2/app/Resources/translations/fr-FR/fr-FR.zip": [ERROR 4] Start tag expected, '<' not found (in n/a - line 1, column 1)
Anubis2702
I found the solution for me, maybe this helps others too. The problem was that somehow I had some translations in ps_translation database, but the translation file xlf did not existed in themes/[theme_name]/translations/ro-RO and also the translated modules did not existed anymore in themes/[theme_name]/modules. The solution is to detele all translations asociated with the [theme_name] in ps_translation but after that you need to translate it again. Or if you want to keep the translations for existing modules this is what I did. Since there wasn't any xlf file in theme translations I exported the theme translation in BO translations page, uploaded to themes/[theme_name]/translations/[lang-code] and deteled all files that contained <file original="adminXXXXX"> istead of the translated file location. After that I cleared the translations from ps_translation database asiciated with the theme, since the translator is creating them automatically it detects the xlf files.
