Custom Text Block and Banner is blank in multi store

I have a multistore set up, both on an only css modified "Classic" theme

 

Default store: store.mydomain.com (English and Bahasa Melayu)

2nd store: secondstore.mydomain.com (English and German)

 

Both stores work fine, same theme, products are copied etc, only the custom text block and banner in the 2nd store is blank.

 

I have content on all 3 languages and the hooks are there, as I can see the custom text block's white box.  However, the text in the custom text block on the 2nd store is blank.

 

I can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong.  Please assist.  Thanks.

I noticed that the module reassurance block is also not showing on the 2nd store.  However, I created a new entry and all is fine.  I noticed from there that there is a shop_id value in the database.

 

Looking into the database for the custom text block module, it seems that there might be an issue where the template or module is looking for the entry based on shop_id but can't find any.

 

I tried to manually create database entries with shop_id of the 2nd store but still unable to show any text in the front end.  Still a blank white box.

 

Can anyone assist me on how to rectify this issue?

I am having the same issue. If you edit the text under one store it changes on both. This says to me there is nothing to determine the store it is attached too!
