Want to add location field to the products in back office.

I am building a store,which includes location specific products.

So i have to include a location field in B.O.

I have to assign specific locations to all the products.

How to achieve this .

please help me guys.

Why not use the built-in warehouse functionality?

 

If you don't go this way, you have to rewrite parts in the product controller which needs know-how of php and tpl.

The back end part of displaying is probably the simplest part of all.

Or use the suppliers as work around. Add your locations as pseudo suppliers. No changes needed for this approach.

Most shop owners don't display the suppliers on the front-end. So you can basically enter there whatever you like.

That is correct. We don't know anything about the specific usage or functional requirement in order to make the best possible suggestion.

but i need to fix one more thing,

i need to change the word Supplier to Location,how do i do that.

There are yet other ways to implement this, including as a feature.

 

However, my preference would be to use the manufacturer as each manufacturer standard has his own page.

To change the word go to backoffice -> localization -> translation.

Depending on where you want to change the word choose -> Translation Front Office or -> Translation Backoffice

After that, click on "Close all blocks", then "Open all blocks"

Search for your word and change it to Location.

It might appear multiple times.

To add somethin to the main menu go to -> backoffice -> Modules

Choose settings for Top Horizontal Menu.

There you can add items to the main menu bar.
