ElasticSearch Is used more and more in webcommerce sites to speed up search. Prestashop owners can install a module to take advantage of ElasticSearch. Both the commercial ElasticSearch Connector and the free Brad module connect to the ElasticSearch server. The modules can use an ElasticSearch instance installed on a local server, another server or it can use a hosted ElasticSearch service. Many merchants are not allowed or don't want to install ElasticSearch either because of web host regulations or simply because they don't want risk a technical problem. Then remain only the hosted solution. Frankly most of these are very expensive to use, mostly because they are not meant for a webshop, they target users with millions of products ar documents.
