Is Prestashop 1.7.1.* ready for production?

I will start a new shop but I don't know if I should start with 1.6 or 1.7.1.*, is the last version os 1.7 already good to start a shop or I will face many bugs?

 

I don't think the store will be complex, is computers/smartphones store.

 

I see some topic talking about the version 1.7.0.* and people telling to to with 1.6 but now with the 1.7.1 what is the best approach?

My suggestion is that you download and install both PS v1.6 and v1.7 on your server, test both focusing on the features that you need, and decide for yourself which one works best.

Then have a look around for themes and modules you plan on using and see which ones exist.

There might be less modules for PrestaShop 1.7x and it is not very easy to do custom changes in PrestaShop 1.7x via standard hook or override because different framework.

So I agree with @bellini13, it is better to download both and test it to see which one fit your requirements best. Maybe 1.6x will be better.
