Display all photos on product combinations

Hello i have a few colours of bed in my store, when someone select red colour on product page, then it showing red bed, but it hides the rest of the pictures and instead displays "show all pictures", how to change this to when someone select red bed then select and display red picture, but also display other colour thumbnails?

I did this for a store once and if I remember correctly it requires that you make some small edits to product.tpl
