"permission denied" message when trying to change admin folder

I just set up Prestashop 1.6.1.13 on a new server and everything went fine until I needed to change the admin folder so I can access the backend otherwise the program is useless.

Every thing I have tried to do in Linux to change this folder has been unsuccessful always receiving the same "Permission denied" message. My question is does Pestashop files have different permission from other files and if so how do I change permission so that I can change the name of the Admin folder?

This looks like an error of your server setup. Maybe it has something to do with the ownership of the directory. You should ask your hosting provider about this.

Ok well lets start with the basics -- when you're trying to crename the directory have you checked what user owns it?

 

This has nothing to do with PrestaShop -- it is just about your server. Having more information about how your dealing with hosting would be useful.
