Multistore and auto selecting languages

Hello Prestashop community!

 

I have developed a custom theme under PS1.6 for one of my clients but I'm having a bit of an issue with language selection.

 

Let me try to explain this to you:

 

The shop is a multistore with one store in French, and the other one in English.

They are accessible using /fr/ and /en/ respectively. The default store is set to /fr/.

 

What I want to do is let the browser decide when to use /fr/ and when to use /en/.

It is to my understanding that Prestashop has a build-in setting that allows browser detection of the language, which I enabled (under Localization > Localization).

 

When I try to log in as an English customer though (using a language switcher plugin in Chrome), it does not automatically redirect to /en/ and instead goes to /fr/. I tried to clear cache and cookies, but it still does not work.
