Product default image combination 1.7

if I check as default image of product an image that is not selected in default combination of this product this image doesn't displayed in frontend.

 

I must check as an image for the default combination to it appears.

I have all combinations except YELLOW assigned to an image. 

 

When the page loads, it doesnt show all the images in thumbnails. However, when you change the attribute to YELLOW (which isnt assigned to image) it shows all images. 

 

I want the customer to see ALL images all of the time, and the attribute change simply displays the correct image at that time. 

 

Any help please?

Same here with PS 1.7.3.3. This is working totally different to PS 1.6 and this is not the best way to do it.

If you have a product with combinations and you want a "global" image for product front-end, you have to assign that image to all combinations. The problem is when you select the combination at front-end it do not change the main image.

Any fix for this?
