Zones & product taxes

Recommended Posts

Hi guys.
I recently decided to move to the Prestashop platform, and I must admit that it looks great.
I still have som issues with the config of my store, so I kindly ask the help of the community.

I'll try to explain first what I'm struggling to achieve and then what I've done so far.

In my shop I need the following config:

- set various zones, some with countries that require product taxation, some without taxes

- by default show only the item price with no taxes, without the "tax excl." side note

- only after the user has logged in, in case his country belongs to a taxed zone, show both prices (tax included and tax excluded)

Until now I:

- set up the zones, mainly divided in zones with taxed countries and zones with tax-free countries

- on payment -> taxes, I created my custom tax and assigned to the zones I want

- created two test accounts, one registered in a taxed country, and one registered in a tax-free country.

What shows up now is:

When no user is logged net prices are shown as "tax included". This is misleading, because there could be taxes or not, depending on the country.

When a user belonging to a tax-free country is logged net prices are shown as "tax included". This is again misleading, because there are no taxes at all.

When a user belonging to a taxed country is logged again net prices are shown as "tax included". Totally wrong, because both prices (tax incl. and excl.) must be shown. Cart also shows no taxes at all.

I will really appreciate any help.
Thank you.

ps. Prestashop is ver 1.3.1

Does someone get the solution ?

I have the same problem here in Quebec, Canada

If you are from Canada but not from Quebec you have to pay one taxe, but it you are from Quebec you have to pay 2 taxes. SO the taxes should be calculated after the user enter his adress.

Does someone has the solution ?
