swan black
while I setup my prestashop, I found 2 different paypal modules there, can anyone tell the difference?
rocky
The PayPal module redirects to the PayPal website for payment, then returns to your website after payment is completed. The PayPal API module displays the PayPal website in a thickbox, with your website still visible in the background. The choice it up to you which style of display you want. Both payment methods work. swan black
got it:) thank you , Rocky. that's good answer! I have another question, does the paypal module or paypal api module work for Paypal China also??
rocky
It should work with PayPal no matter which country. Try it and let us know whether it works.
badger1010
I've tried both modules and both seem to take me to the PP site??Anyone else had experience of this?
glenns
This is my experience too badger, however when using the pp api I get a page that has the full credit card fill in details exposed on one side and log into PP account on the other side of the page. I am using the api and have had a few orders already and seems to work ok, but I do not get the experience Rocky mentioned.
rocky
I've never actually checked out using PayPal API before. I've just installed the PayPal API and noticed that a block appeared in the right column that displayed in thickbox when clicked.
glenns
Yeah that part is for sure, true, a block appears and you can click on it to pop open the box, but for me it rarely works, the thickbox open but the default text is not there...it seems to work on some pages but not the main one. its weird.
