Multiple Category Blocks

Hey guys, i wonder if anyone can tell me how to create another category block, but only showing the category ids that i choose?


I.e on my site i sell fancy dress, so i have categories such as, Mens, Ladies, Kids, etc

But then i would like to have another Block, but this time with the title 'Themes', then i can have like Batman, Superman etc

The back office categories structure is fine i dont care if its all under the same thing, but on the front, is there a way for me to tell the main category block to ignore category ID x (so it does not show in this category block), and then on the other category block have it display only Category x (so it only displays the categories that i want it to display)

It's not that easy creating a new category module with those limitations, you need to duplicate the module and hard code the categories you wish to ignore.

The easier solution would be to use the Manufacturer module for that, you can rename the text there easily (from the backoffice translation tool), and assign it to the product you want to see there.

hehe me again, i cant for the life of me work out how to change the main title of the block MANUFACTURERS. I dont suppose you know?

Go to Tools > Translations, select "Module translations" in the dropdown, click the USA flag, scroll down to "prestashop - blockmanufacturer", enter the renamed title in the "Manufacturers" textfield, then click "Update translations" at the bottom of the page.
