Product Image Sizes wrong ?

Hi,

I have been using Prestashop for a while selling photos and wanted to tidy up the quality of the product pictures on my site, I only show small versions of the pictures to stop people just taking the one off the screen.

I looked at the picture being displayed on the screen and it was 460 x 460 in size if you grab it so I created my original imported pictures to be 460 x 460 but making a white frame this size and having my pictures imposed on them using the widest side so every picture is square 460 x 460.

When I import the pictures they bear no resemblance to the settings in image settings in the control panel, have I gotten something totally wrong, the thick_large that is the main picture on the product page in settings is set to 460 x 460 but when you import a picture it creates one of 300 x300 in the image directory ?, same for the other sizes, they are not what is set in the images settings.

Am I missing something ?
