How to send data to cart

Hey folks,

I'm a newbie in Prestashop and I'd like understand how it works and how I can work with it.

Practically, in the cart page, under the Voucher input, I need to add an other input with its submit button. Once the user type a string in this input field and click on the submit button, automatically a specific product need to be add at the cart and the text the user typed in the input field need to be add to the description of this product.

Someone who can explain me to get it and how Prestashop works in a casa like this?!

this requires major customization of prestashop core and theme files.

Mmh, I used a "add to cart" button to add a specific product to cart. But I don't know I can I send the value of an input to the cart page when clicking on "add to cart". Via a simple Post?!
