Category block modification

Hi,

I'm trying to modify categaryblock so that, you could see without clicking main categories like:

Accesories -  smtng<-subcategory u can also click on it
 smtngIpods  smtng
 smtng
Iphones  smtng  smtng

also that when u press smtng ,YOU could still see everything in main category block!, i mean that nothing would dissapear (this is good):

Accesories -  smtng<-subcategory u can also [b]click on it[/b]
SMTNGIpods  smtng
 smtng
Iphones  smtng  smtng

and everything in the categoryblock still exists , not like in here ,where everything dissapears Link
everything for me works there but , when i press "SMTNG" category block dissapears leaving just:

Ipods:
smtng
