Using default category image instead of product-default.jpg image

I want the detail product page (that shows the default-product.jpg image as a banner) to display the same image as its category (category_default image instead of default-product.jpg).

 

I think I need to make some code changes (on the product pages?) in order to do that. Can you indicate me which files I should modify so each product shows its category image?

And I want all the products belonging to that category to use the same image. Right now it uses an image called default-product.jpg  https://snag.gy/HsElAu.jpg

I never heard of a default-product.jpg file.

 

Anyway, the display is handled by the .tpl files of your theme in your theme's directory. For the product pages it is product.tpl. For the categories usually category.tpl and product-list.tpl.
