Uk taxes

Recommended Posts

Hi all I have keeping an eye on the forum but can not see this question. On the older version of prestashop there was the option to show prices as either: Pre tax, tax included or both prices. This option seems to have been deleted and the only price is inclusive of tax.
Although this is only a minor point I have found the industry I work in, we look at pre tax (VAT) prices to determine product price structure and having the prices shown as inclusive of tax makes them look expensive.
Is there any way to show pre tax and taxincluded on the new version of prestoshop.

Regards

Ian

i think if you check

Customers -> Groups and edit default group the setting is now under that option

But do not forget under UK law prices on a B2C website have to show tax inclusive

obvisouly you are ok on a B2B site

Thanks Chris.

I was hoping to show both inclusive & exclusive of VAT as many competitors have this, and also to support all markets.
Will have stick to inclusive of VAT.

On a good point Prestoshop does offer a lot.

Thanks again Chris

Hi,

I would like to do something similar. I am using my site as B2C, however I will have a B2B customer group that is for Trade to login only and see trade prices and place orders. For these people I will apply a discount and show prices excl Tax - both of which are possible.

I need however to then apply Tax on checkout for the trade customers? Is this possible - I dont believe it is from everything thing I have tried.

Can someone suggest how this might be possible? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

My thought (am im no coder) was the best thing to do would be set up the trade group but not check the exclude taxes box so that Tax is applied on checkout as normal and then edit the product template to show prices excl VAt if the user was in the trade group. However this seems a bit ugly and complicated.
