Problems with step 7

Hi

I've made it up to the 7th step

In a Web browser, launch the Installer by adding install to your shop’s URL (e.g., http://www.mysite.com/prestashop/install)

But every time I get there the web browser says link not found, I've checked the directories, confirmed my hosting companies specifications in relation with the sytem requirements, created a MySql Database, confirmed the status of the GD library, checked the permissions of the associated files. I've done the installation twice using a sub directory and the root and still no glory. Any help will be great or if someone could point me to another post (I tried searching but couldn't get what I was looking for)

If it helps at all:
I have a trail host account with the hosting company and if someone would like to take a crack at it I can send them the details? Alternatively if someone wants to take a look and see maybe I've made a silly mistake along the way?
