trailing slash in end of category get 404 error

Hi,

I use google search consoles, the scan give me many 404 error,

 

for example

siteurl / category / <- get this 404 error

siteurl / category <- this work fine

 

Actually I use this module "pretty urls" to remove id number but they didn't resolve this problem at the moment, so I ask to the community if anyone has had the same one.

I have the same problem with the ending slash...the funny part is that for some links it works both ways and for some not. I don't really know the cause at the moment and am still investigating. The behavior started when i switched to php 7 so i am not sure if this could be a cause...

I recommend not using 'pretty  urls'....they seldom work correctly and add no value to seo
