"Replacing" Checkout

Hi!

 

I think the Checkout process in Prestashop is "heavy". I really want to make it simpler, and change the steps order.

 

I don't want to modify the core code, so I want to make a module.

 

Does anybody know how can I "replace" the Checkout from a module? I think it should be possible since I remember there was a "One Step Checkout" module before Prestashop includes it.

 

Does anybody know a module that do something like that, so I can see how they do it and make my own?
