doozyden
Hi guys im quite frustrated with my current hosting provider. not sure what the problem is but i keep getting 500 internal server errors with them. site is running super slow in the backend! so there is definitely some problem with the hosting provider. im currently on Prestashop 1.6.1.6 and im trying to do an update to 1.6.1.11 but i keep getting the server error. ive decided to move my hosting to a different provider and want to do a totally clean installation of prestashop what do i need to backup in order to mover my site across? site is basically new with no active customers. musicmaster
Long story short: copy database and files to your localhost. adapt settings.inc.php and the ps_shop_url table there so that it runs on localhost, run upgrade to 1.6.1.11, upload files and database to new server, set settings.inc.php and the ps_shop_url there. It is always best to upgrade on localhost. By definition it is a backup so if the upgrade goes wrong (what quite often happens) you lose nothing. And on localhost you won't have the file rights trouble that often blocks an upgrade on a server. If it gets complicated have a look at my tool copy_shopdata: https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/445453-copy-shopdata-script-for-copying-shop-content-for-upgrade/
