Worst experience with addons.prestashop.com .. EVER!

Does anybody know how I can get a refund for a non-functional addon bought from addons.prestashop.com ?

I'm here to tell all of you the horrible experience I had with addons.prestashop.com 

I bought a module called Pretty Urls - advertised as working on 1.7.0.5 .

Of course, the module did not work on 1.7.0.5, only works in 1.6.x.x ...  and after many many messages back and forward, the developer told me that the attributes can not hidden from the URL in 1.7.x.x .

Then I said to myself, OK, so I need a refund if the product is not working .
As you go to addons.prestashop.com, you can Live Chat with someone there ... but as soon as I said I have a problem and that I need a refund .. BAM .. the chat pop-up closed and I see that I don't have access to it anymore .

Is that how stuff works around here ?!? very ugly .. very ugly indeed ...

I don't remember the last time I had such a bad experience ... and I had so many expectations from the official prestashop addons marketplace .. my bad, I guess .. .

 

What am I left with ?
a. A bunch of screenshots of the entire chat
b. a bunch of screenshots with the non-functional addon
c. less money in my pocket
d. wasted time
e. lost a client
... I guess it's all good material for a long and documented blog post ... sucks ..

BEWARE ... the addons marketplace seems full of scammers and the official support seems to have their back . NOT COOL !

Have you asked the refund to the developer?

1.7 dropped product.js...and dance on it's grave

 

attributes are no part of url

 

here are my advices:

 

1. simply file dispute with payment method on purchase...always do this first..

2. see 1

 

as for 'freindlier urls', this is a core change, there is 'no' proof that they help in 'any' way.  but changing core 'will' create unpredictable results in this area...

If you paid with paypal raise a dispute with them.  You will soon get a response.

 

You are not alone in your grumbles for add ons. It seems that every add-on that I purchase are old and out of date and never work properly with out the developers to come and update them.  I allowed a module to update yesterday thinking great a new version, guess what it was the same old version that didn't work in the first place so back to the developer to sort it out, it does make me wonder about the extra zen payment required after the 3 months.  Is this just a money spinner

 

I will never update another module that is working.
