Thanks for the reply. I am very careful with moving to other PHP Versions. Of course you always easily roll back to a previous version but still. Regarding the Modules that run on 1.6.1.11. Are all Modules php7 ready or can this be an issue. What i am not wanting is to have to test every single module running on my website for compatibility

Generell: This is something Prestashop can improve heavily. The impact of changes are not clear at all. I've ran into quite a few problems when upgrading Prestashop version cause files were overwritten and and and...

No one can guarantee that all modules are compatible with PHP7, that is up to the authors of the individual modules to ensure they have properly tested.

And this is crap. If Prestashop has an addon store and checks the software to make sure no bad behavior is detected, than a php version check should be done as well. With Prestashop nothing is clear...everything is uncertain which makes the use more than difficult. I don't want to go check every Module if its compatible...An addon in the store needs to clearly indicate which Version of Prestashop and PHP is supported...anything else is just dumb and useless.

equally dumb is venting on a forum where the PS addons team will never read.

You also failed to define the scope of your question is limited to the addons store...

There are many marketplaces and websites to obtain modules from (paid or free) and those modules would not be vetted by Prestashop.
