Select shipping Country dropdown

p-d-s

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am searching for a dropdown in addition to the language or currency menu.

Reason:

Item cost:

Country A: 50,-

Country B: 60,-

The different shipping costs are not mandatory.

The shop prices should show the prices depending on the country selected.

Is this a build-in feature? Normaly this steps only works if the item has a special price for a specific country. But this is only visible if the frontend user logs in or is already in the cart.

Thanks

I think this module is what you are looking for: https://www.prestaheroes.com/en-us/modules/geo-localization/prestashop-shipping-commander

It displays a country selector in frontend just like languages and currencies (you can check on the demo) and the shipping prices (I am not sure but I think also product prices) are updated accordingly.

It is from @elpatron, you could ask him any questions regarding the module.

Hope it helps.

Cheers.

thank you.....I consider myself and my team to be giants in geolocation, adding visitor shipping assurance is 'very significant' buy signal...non logged, yea we ship to you!  priceless....check how the big only now have this feature, we did this two years ago....six months dev/test.....worth it.

Hello,

I've tested both modules, they don't work for this "simple" purpose.

Has any one interest in developing this kind of module?

you test our Shipping Commander module?  I don't think so.  Our module freaking rocks....at least that is what our customers say.  And our module can support currency and language selector.  I doubt very seriously you thought of something we did not.

Hi to everyone, especially to @El Patron. Can someone tell me if "PrestaShop Shipping Commander Module" change also product price according to selected country if products have different price for each country ? Thank you!

Hi PizzaPie,

Shipping Commander will not change the visitors cookie country when they select a  shipping country so any product by country prices and more would display default country  (assuming you are not using Geo Targeting Pro.

This can accomplished using our module (on addons) Geo Targeting Pro.  Shipping Commander is fully integrated with Geo Targeting Pro as well as native geo location.  Note: we do not recommend native geo location as by default, non-resolved IP's are disallowed from shopping, ew lol.  But we have added country simulator to make it super easy for shop manager to simulate visitor view by country....priceless

Shipping Commander combined with Geo Targeting Pro in my honest opinion provides 'best in class' visitor localization (visior assurance).  Example:

shop default country is US USD and an Italian visitor lands (non-logged)....the will see Deliver to: (Italian flag).....and all 'by country' catalog configurations defined to PrestaShop, currency(euro), correct tax info, product specific price, etc.

We help international shops grow their business 'everyday', while we do a lot of other work this is our favorite area to work in.

shipping commander of all  my works...is my absolute favorite modules....and my customers as well.

happy geo'ing

el (downtown Kansas City, Missouri)

Hi El Patron, thank you for your fast answer! Just a question about your example:

I understand that using Geo Targeting Module if an Italian visitor lands (non logged) on website he will see all catalog configuration for Italy, and that's great.

But what if this Italian visitor select, for example, "Ship to United kingdom" in Shipping Commander dropdown? Will he see now catalog configuration for United Kingdom, or he will still see price for Italy?

Thanks again!

If italian visitor changes delivery country from .it to .uk, this would only affect shipping, it would not re-localize visitor to UK.

Ok, that's what i thought... unfortunately I need my visitor to SELECT their shipping country, I'm afraid I can't use automatic Geo Targeting.

Thanks anyway for your fast support :-)

sorry for confusion, but they can select their shipping country....that  is entire  point of module....but what I think you are asking is can shipping commander change visitor country from US to IT.  If that made sense we would have done that.  But it does not make sense.  What happens then when they determine they can change their country manually and that affects price,  how do you stop them at checkout to send to other country...either I dont' understand your requirements or you have bad geo localization strategy.

Yes, sorry if it's a bit confusing :-D

Let me try to explain: I'm looking for a way to let my visitor select their shipping country BEFORE entering the site, so then they will see price related to selected country. But I haven't find any solution right now so I'm looking for a workaround and I thought your module could be a way to solve my problem.

Unfortunately it's not exactly what I need right now, but I'll surely keep it mind for the future.

since there are 'no' other shipping commanders in the world, then you would need custom code so that shipping commander provides shipping selector but with GTP it accuratley displays their shipping country, which they can change.  I know what you are however wanting now that you expalined it, i.e. shipping commander would be shown as page they can then select their shipping country.  To be honest what you ask for is not a great idea except for shops that have different sites based on country....we understand modules are not always one size fits all....good luck
