emenai
Hi all, I do hope that somebody can help me here... Well, here's the scenario.. I installed a PS 1.24 on my domain and went on with adding categories and products with the intention of using P1.24. But when PS1.31 came out, I'm afraid to upgrade the PS1.24 since I could not find enough info on how to upgrade it properly without any mistakes. But now since the the PS1.31 came out, my client requested it to upgrade to that version. So what I did was backing up the db and the whole site (in a subdirectory), but instead of upgrading I installed a new PS1.31 version under a new subdomain. So the question is, is there a way of importing the SQL db from the previous version into a new version? Will it work if I just drop the tables in the new db and import the old SQL db from PS 1.24 to the new db? Please help me, as I would like to UP the shop live ASAP....Thanks for helping me here! rocky
No, that will not work. Using PrestaShop v1.3.1 with a PrestaShop v1.2.4 database is a very bad idea. You can replace the PrestaShop v1.3.1 database with a PrestaShop v1.2.4 database, but then you must run the installer to upgrade the database to PrestaShop v1.3.1. You should copy the config/settings.inc.php from your PrestaShop v1.2.4 to PrestaShop v1.3.1 to enable the "Update" option in the installer.
