angelyssa
Hi Everyone, I am having a huge issue...Customers cannot update their password. Each time they try, they get the following error: Your password is incorrect. For example, when a customer logs into his account and goes to "My personal information" and attemtps to UPTATE his password, the error always is "Your password is incorrect." (when in fact, the password IS correct). This is really bad, esepcially if customers are trying to Recover their password, and they are sent confirmation link .. when they click that, then PS issues a new password... but this should be changed (for security reasons). So we ask cutomers to log into their account right away to update the password to something only they know. Why can't a customer update his password in their profile? Using PS 1.5.3.1 (do not ask me to udpate, I cannot - there's like a million mods and it will break my shop). Thanks for any help! I AM able to change the customer's password when I am logged into the Admin back-end and go to Customers, and click the customer's edit button... It works there just fine. bellini13
I realize the pain in upgrades, however this issue could be related to the version of Prestashop being used. Or it could be caused by some module or customization in the store. Hard for anyone here to guess, which is likely why you have no replies This requires some debugging and tracing through the code to determine what exactly is going on, not something that can be done via a forum post
angelyssa
thanks for your reply... we have not upgraded.. we are using version 1.5.3.1 have been for years... cannot really upgrade, as we have the product page code embedded onto static HTML pages (for SEO purposes)... and also probably some other customization from long ago... would be nearly impossible to upgrade... we'd have to start from scratch, which is just not something I want to do lol Is there someone here who could troubleshoot or look at our code to check? for a fee.. let me know price! Thank you!
bellini13
It is possible to download the original PS v1.5.3.1 code, and then compare it to your existing store files. This way you can see all of the differences and customizations that have been made to the store. This will allow you to document your customizations in preparation for an upgrade. I would not stay on this version of the store for too long. Soon the version of PHP required to run this version of the store will stop receiving updates and security fixes, and that will leave you in a bad spot. I can offer services to help troubleshoot the password issue. Feel free to contact me via my website and we can discuss
