Strange product price activity

Hi, I am hoping you guys can help me with a problem on my site.
I noticed today that one of my products had its price changed from £21.99 to £1.00, so I logged in to the admin page and changed it back, however as soon as I browsed to the product in the front office it reset the price back to £1.00???

Next I deleted the product, and created the product again, same description etc and set the correct price of £21.99 but the same problem happened - how is this possible? No other products are affected; only this one product but what has me confused is that even after deleting the product and re-creating it the same issue arose.

Just to test this weird behaviour I created a test product and set the price £21.99 and everything was fine, the only difference here is that I used a different product description.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my post and hope that you can help me resolve this strange behaviour.
