ashkansharifi
Hi Everyone, I am back using Prestashop after few years of idle. I am using Prestashop 1.7.0.2. I have two languages. How can I set the second language to be default language for only one country using geo location? I hope there would be a free module or at least few code lines I could copy paste. Your help would be appreciated :-)
ashkansharifi
Am I virtually invisible to everyone or my energy is not good enough to attract others to give me hand on this?
El Patron
Language detect 'best practice' is to analyze the visitors HTTP language information. This can be enabled in localization, not sure of menu in 1.7.
ashkansharifi
Thank you very much for your reply, Sir. :-) I have enabled the GeoLocation. Does this mean user having French ip address will visit the website in French? There is way to configure each country currency but not language on the 1.7 backend. prestamax
language settings in prestashop 1.7 are a pain. Even if you have set a specific language to as preferred language to an employee the backend will use browser language detection. If you set a preferred language as default language in prestashop you will receive a mix of browser language, IP address language and preferred language at the best. ashkansharifi
Thanks for your post on this topic, Prestamax. Does this mean that Prestashop 1.7 detects user language atomically by turning on GeoLocation only?
prestamax
Does this mean that Prestashop 1.7 detects user language atomically by turning on GeoLocation only? I think it is a mix of autodetecting and settings. According to the bug tracker they are aware of the issue and there will be improvements in the next update (hopefully) ..
