adamsilva01
Hey guys, I have two stores on two different domains, each with a prestashop installation. Is it possible to use the multistore feature to connect both stores and manage them through one back-office?
shokinro
You can use one instance of PrestaShop (one database) with different domains/different theme(different front store view), the back office can be shared with different domains. But if you have already installed different instance of PrestaShop, it is difficult to connect to share the one database and back office. You may have to merge them first. adamsilva01
How do I merge them? My second store still hasn't officially launched to the public and there are basically no products there. I only made major changes to the theme. If I create the second shop thorough the multistore feature of the first store, is it possible to transfer over the whole theme to the newly created store without any losses in the theme? shokinro
You should be able to choose a theme for a new created shop at multistore feature of prestashop. If you have installed only one theme and it will be set as default theme for all new created shops.
adamsilva01
Yes, but that wasn't my question. Yes it's possible to choose a theme when creating a new shop. But is it possible to, for example, copy the theme folder from my current second shop, and paste it in the newly created shop(done by the multistore feature) without any problems? shokinro
No, I do not think you can just copy the theme folder. You will have to reinstall the theme since nowadays theme are complicated, it usually involves setting and hooks which are saved in database.
