CONTACT FORM - invalid email

I add my email, it gets a green highlight and checkmark - when I try to send, it says: Invalid email

 

and if I have a phone number, that is suddenly in the email field. If there's no phone number, then it is just the invalid email message.

 

Any idea why this happens or how to fix? I have attached a screenshot of before and after.
