Link to database cannot be established: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Connection refused

It is monday, we have christmas business and what else could be than issues with technical stuff....

 

Today I wanted to start dealing with orders - in this case e.g. generating invoices -- and I got his error thrown:

Link to database cannot be established: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Connection refused

We run 1.6.10 and php 7.0.

All is hosted on one of the best hosters (Hetzner). Though managed server I wonder if this error is not related to Prestashop?!

 

If so what can I do?

Error is coming from your server. Exactly saying from your database server. Hetzner... I was a Hetzner customer some years ago. One of the best ??!! this is a discussion a part.

 

The error says: you cannot connect to your database cause the connection was refused:

 

Possibly problems.

1) password incorrect, I presume it's not (if not hacked)

2) network is too busy (network overload) and your request cannot be completed. Which is very common on shared networks.

3) SQL service actually not running -> database crashed or under maintenance.

 

You should contact Hetzner and tell them your problem.
