Importing Attribute Groups and Attributes

I have searched through the forums, but found nothing regarding setting attributes and groups of attributes using the CSV import. Of course, many merchants would like to set these attributes using exports from spreadsheets that already exist. If I havent missed something (which I usually do), could you tell me how I could implement this?

To make things clear if I have not:

- an attribute group such as 'Color' could be set in one column of the spreadsheet export (CSV)

- the various colors that applied to that product would be in a field separated by a delimiter (choose yours, comma works, if one is using ; as the column delimiter, which most do, contrary to the meaning of CSV... i talk too much).

- the attribute group, if existing, remains and is not overwritten.

- the attributes for that group, if not existing, are appended.


The idea of importing our product catalog into this engine and setting the colors for every product (cosmetics... just imagine) scares me. Maybe, as I said earlier... there is a technique for doing this that I missed?
