Remove discount information from shopping cart

I'm having a problem removing discount information from the shopping cart in version 1.6.1.7

 

I've edited the shopping-cart-product-line.tpl and removed the code that generates the discount information (lines 49-75).

 

If I open the shopping cart everything appears as I want but if I change the quantity of an item the discount information returns.

 

I've cleared cache, Disabled cache and forced recompilation of template.

How do I remove all discount information from the shopping cart.

I figured out the issue.

 

I had to edit the updateCartSummary function in cart-summary.js.
