Paypal - Multistores - Return URL

Hello, i have one Prestashop main website + many Multistores.
I use one single Paypal PRO account to manage the payments of all the websites.

I want to setup the Paypal returning url for each store (returning url to order-confirmation page on Prestashop).

How can i do it?

Paypal support told me to add a "return" variable in the Paypal module. One return url for every website i use.

Any suggestion?

Thanks for your help!

that module already deals with providing paypal the IPN/notification url.

No, it doesn't.

Customer came back to the confirmation-page only if clicks on the dedicated button in the paypal page.

If the customers doesn't click, he doesn't came back on the confirmation-page and my analytics\objectives\conversions stats are not correct.

Actually, yes the module does provide the information to Paypal.  Paypal not returning the customer to your website is a different issue.  Maybe your store is failing to receive the IPN, or maybe it is failing to process the IPN.

You will need to research those issues further.  But the point I am making, is that you should not go into your paypal account and attempt to set a Notification URL in your paypal profile, it is not necessary, and it will not fix the issue you are having

This is the problem: "Paypal not returning the customer to your website is a different issue".

I must modify the Paypal module in a way that automatically return the customer the confirmation-order page of the origin website.

I have the same issue. Orders are confirmed first on the PayPal site order confirmation page and only return if the user clicks return to website link.

I believe there is a built in delay to allow the IPN notice to reach the site and finish the order in Prestashop, The module seems to use PayPal API for 'standard' PayPal, but switches to IPN for PayPal Pro. Why, when this is causing a quite big issue? Also the option to capture and authorise or just capture does not work with the selector radio buttons with PayPal Pro. Still too many problems with this module!

If you have a single store, you can add the single return url in the paypal website setting page.

The problem happens when you have multistores. In the paypal page you can add only 1x return url.

I think that the developer of the module could solve this problem.

I've contacted them and i'm waiting answer.

We use this module on multiple stores and it works fine (usually). One PayPal account and orders are created correcly on multiple websites. So the module must be correct. What Bellini is telling you is that the problem is how the module / paypal interacts with your site, it is not a problem with the module, beause the module woks for other people

Also i use one single Paypal account and orders are correctly created.

The only problem i have is about the return url for the multistores. If the return url doesn't work automatically, all my Analytics stats are not correct.

But the module does that correctly for you.It send the correct return URl data.  As Bellini and I are trying to point out is that the module does that and works for most people. So the problem must be  in your store - IF and this is a big IF, it never works. Change the focus away from modifying the module to looking at error logs on your site to try to determine what is stopping the order being created

If it is an intermittent problem then the fault is much more likely to be user error, Payal themselves or the module.

So if the problem is all the time, start debugging your store, if it is just occasional then start looking at the module / paypal / user errror

I told you that the module correctly works!

It correctly creates the orders on my Prestashop.

The only problem is the return url for my multistores.

The module must automatically return the customers on order-confirmation page of the origin website!

If you have a single shop you can set it up in the Paypal setting page. If you have multistores you cannot...

And I (and bellini) have told you that the module DOES automatically send the order back to the origin website. Because we have it working in just that way. You do NOT have to put it in the PayPal settings page, because the module does that for you. I know because we have it working in just that way

OK look, there are only so many ways to word this, and clearly I am not managing to convice you to look else where. So I will bug out. Good luck

Yes Haylau - but do you and Bellini use Standard PayPal or PayPal Pro accounts??

There is a difference. It works perfectly on Standard PayPal account - but NOT on PayPal Pro account!

We use "Paypal Website payments Pro"

I assume the "pro" means the same type of account, but perhaps not

  • 3 weeks later...

I use Website Payments Pro too - however, using the one page checkout I always get a PayPal hosted order confirmation screen before it eventually redirects back to Prestashop's order confirmation. This causes an issue with Google analytics, as at that PayPal Order Conf page the buyer can opt to leave, without waiting to return to the Prestashop site order-confirmation and thus analytics will not track the sale conversion.
