bykrmom
I'm trying to re-import my files from the previous site the store was on, using the import tool. WHile I am aware of the restrictions on words and special characters and I have re-done the files to work, I can't import the new fields that are shown in the Wiki for importing. It says,"You can import the following values:ID Active Name Categories (x,y,z…) Prices Tax rate On sale Reductions Reference # Supplier reference # Supplier Manufacturer EAN13 Weight Quantity Short description Description Tags (x,y,z…) Meta-title Meta-keywords Meta-description Text when in-stock Text if back-order allowed Image URLs (x,y,z…) Features "Unfortunately, many of those fields do not have a selection in the drop down lists after I open the file.Especially the Image URL field. Would that work with http(colon)//www(dot)theoldstore(dot)com(slash)image directory or is it intended to look for the images another way?I need to bring in the item#, the short and long descriptions (plain text), the images, the supplier, etc. I need as many fields as possible. How do I go about this? Was this in the final version update? I was trying to update, but after I update and then re-install my altered files, the version then claims it's still ver 1.0.0.5So how do I do this exactly? bykrmom
I answered my own question above by installing a newly downloaded version of the final release PrestaShop and installing it on my remote server sans any changes I have made since last July. Then I tried an import once again, using the fields listed currently in the Wiki for importing product. It is not part of ver 1.0.0.8 to allow one to import image URLs, so my version release wasn't the problem. The Wiki entry seems to list more possibilities than the program actually supports. What I can import;IDReference #Supplier Reference #NameEAN13PriceWeightQuantityShort DescriptionDescriptionCategoryI can not import;ActiveTax RateReductionsSupplierManufacturerTags (x,y,z…) Meta-title Meta-keywords Meta-description Text when in-stock Text if back-order allowed Image URLs (x,y,z…) Features I aprreciate the efforts of the designers of PrestaShop very much, and I know what they go through, working as I do with 3 software designers here at my workplace. It's not easy, and usually thankless. I don't want to give the impression that I'm angry or demanding here, as open source software is free, and I still owe the team my gratitude for creating and making this program available. What I do want to say is this: Please don't list features in the Wiki FAQ that aren't truly available in the current releases.I'll go back to my partial import list and keep plugging away at getting everything listed. (it takes longer, but it looks GREAT in the shop!)When/If the ability to import images or the rest comes to pass, I hope someone will please let me know here or in a PMThanks,Angie
Damien Metzger
Hi bykrmom,I did it so I must apologize. It's part of the 1.1 which should have been out now. We are late for the release, that's the real problem. So the features listed here will be available as soon as possible, when the 1.1 will be released
bykrmom
Thank you for the fast reply, Damien.Do you have any ETA when the 1.1 release will be out? A "guestimate" if you will? I can wait a week or so, to be able to use the expanded import features.Let me know,Thanks again,Angie
