dowzer
Hi, I am a total newb with Prestashop - have spent many years tinkering with OSCommerce and, more recently, Zen Cart. Have just downloaded and about to install Prestashop for the first time after really liking the showcases and demo.I found Prestashop as I am stuck with a challenge for a client who has a requirement for a cart which can do advanced discounting such as:1) buy one get one of the same item free2) buy this and choose a free gift3) spend over £x and choose a free gift4) buy a and b together and get £x or x% off the total price5) buy a and get b for £xZen Cart can't do this - OSC probably can but it will take 10 different contributions none of which will work together properly and will most likely conflict like crazy!I *think* Magento can BUT it is so hard to use and even get functioning that I lost the will to live let alone the will to try setting it up hence finding my way here Can the above discount types be achieved by Prestashop (a) out of the box or ( via paid modules. I don't mind having to pay for some functionality as the client will foot the bill but I could do with keeping the cost down. Many thanksJason
rocky
No, PrestaShop cannot do this out of the box. The only module I'm aware of that adds this functionality is the Better Together Discounting module.
mytheory.
I was just wondering this too...The Better Together Module rocky mentioned seems hopefully but you can't use it with AJAX which is a bummer for us... on the other hand its a free module.I recently came across this one http://www.prestastore.com/front-office-features/442-gift-on-order.html&adforum;, it's called Gift on Order. And from the demo it seems like there are a lot of possibilities and features plus it works with AJAX too! The only downside is the hefty price... I don't know if that price tag is worth the module unless you absolutely need it. PS. I've noticed prestastore is usually a bit more expensive than directly from the developer... might be worth searching around for.HTH!
rocky
PrestaStore takes a commission from sales, which is why the modules are a little more expensive.
