I'm getting the following error when I try to save an account

TECHNICAL ERROR: unable to save adresses Details: Error thrown: [object Object] Text status: parsererror

checking Chrome I see

jquery-1.11.0.min.js:4 Synchronous XMLHttpRequest on the main thread is deprecated because of its detrimental effects to the end user's experience. For more help, check https://xhr.spec.whatwg.org/.

I think I remember something about browsers changing how they handle synchronous requests and that this was going to cause problems for PrestaShop.

I'm currently using PrestaShop version 1.6.1.2

I plan to upgrade to the most recent 1.6 version as soon as I get all the issues with moving the store to a new server resolved.

In addition to this issue I have one module that had to be disabled because it was throwing up PHP base dir errors -- it was trying to use a base dir that was outside of the public_html directory. I assume that is just bad coding of the module and not related to this.

In addition I have the following error when checking configuration from the back office

  • Some PrestaShop files are missing from your server.
    (/cache/smarty/compile/index.php)

I'm also a little concerned that in configuration it shows

  Updated files (1724)

Which seems excessive. I have made changes to core files so I would expect some but under 100.

If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. I've been working on moving the site from shared hosting to a VPS for a couple of days and every time I think I've solved it a new problem presents itself.
