pause4paws
I want the product and category ID numbers assigned automatically but I'm confused about the descriptions for "Force all ID numbers" in the TM tutorial and the PS documentation. In this tutorial http://www.templatemonster.com/help/prestashop-1-6-x-how-to-exportimport-data-in-csv-files.html#gref it says this: Force all ID numbers – by default, this setting is disabled which means that PrestaShop will assign its own IDs to the imported data. If you want to keep the original IDs, enable this option. and in PS documentation: http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS16/CSV+Import+Parameters says: Force all ID numbers. You can either keep the imported IDs, or let the importer auto-increment them. Do I enable or disable that setting, please? Also in my csv I don't have the ID Numbers column, so do I add it or not? TemplateMonster adjusted my .csv's and uploaded for me, but I have to fix them. I think at some point they may have deleted the ID column because I used the sample csv's to create my spreadsheets. The screenshot is taken from the tutorial so ignore the circled numbers. Just see the red arrow. Thanks! Daresh
Disable this setting if you're importing some new data, without ID numbers. Enable this setting if: - you're importing data from some older version and want to keep the ID numbers, for the links to stay the same - you have another file with products where you have a column with category ID (and that ID is also in your category CSV)
