Hosting a custom REST API in a custom Module

Hello, I need to create a custom REST API inside a new module. Note that I do not need to access Prestashop's built in Web service support, I have a custom REST API Contract definition I need to include inside a Prestashop's Custom Module. The problem is I can't find out a way to do so. How exactly can I host a custom REST api and register it within my custom module so outside users (third party, non-prestashop clients) can have access to my own custom REST API living inside Prestashop?
