Payment Module issue for PS 1.7

I'm just trying to get a sense from the community about payment modules for PS v1.7

 

Besides the Check and Bankwire payment modules, which do not use the 'Payment Accepted' order status, has anyone had success in installing and using a payment module in PS v1.7, that does use 'Payment Accepted' as the default order status?

 

If so, have you encountered an error during checkout that has prevented the PDF invoice from being generated and delivered in the order confirmation email?

 

I had submitted this forge ticket originally for the early release candidates, it was supposedly fixed, however the issue still persists in the initial stable release.
